Our Executive Director, Kathryn Beaty, was born and raised in the mountains of north Georgia. She received her nursing degree from North Georgia Tech Nursing School. Having worked in nursing, mostly in long term care since 1974, her favorite thing is connecting with our residents on a daily basis and absorbing all the life lessons they have to share. She grew up heavily influenced by her grandparents and great-grandparents, and they taught her the lesson she carries with her to this day – that despite their age and, sometimes, frailty, our elders want to be involved in their care decisions and they deserve to have a say.

Via Tennessee and Indiana, Kathryn arrived in Montana in 1989 and came to work at Valley View Estates right away. Becoming our administrator in 1997, she has led Valley View Estates through many award-winning and deficiency-free years.

Kathryn is also an active community member, serving as:

• The past President and the current Secretary of the Ravalli County Council on Aging
• The current Secretary/Treasurer of the Montana Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators
• Past President of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, Paul Harris Fellow, and Sustaining Member
• Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and life member
• Past Mother Advisor of Hamilton Assembly Number 2, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and a Master of the Grand Cross of Color

It is not unusual to see Kathryn about town, especially at the Hamilton Farmer’s Market, wearing her Valley View T-shirt. If you see her out and about, stop and say hi!
